2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use this site. If you are under 18, you may use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the site, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your Account
Some features of Utahn require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at theutahn@utahn.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
4. Subscriptions
Utahn offers three subscription tiers:
The Reader is free. It includes access to select public articles, a weekly newsletter, and the ability to comment on select posts.
The Subscriber provides full access to all articles and stories, the daily Utahn newsletter, and early access to event registration. The Subscriber is available at $5 per month or $50 per year.
The Print Edition includes all benefits of The Subscriber, plus a bimonthly print edition delivered to your door, exclusive print-only stories and essays, and invitations to subscriber-only events. The Print Edition is available at $10 per month or $100 per year.
Subscription pricing, features, and availability are subject to change. We will notify active subscribers of any material changes to their tier in advance.
Billing and Renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you select. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at theutahn@utahn.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
Print Edition Delivery
Print subscriptions ship within the United States. Delivery times vary. We are not responsible for delays caused by postal carriers or circumstances outside our control. If your print edition is lost or damaged in transit, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue.
Refunds
All subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.
5. Content and Intellectual Property
All content published on Utahn.com — including articles, essays, fiction, photographs, illustrations, newsletters, and design — is the property of Utahn, LLC or its contributing writers and is protected by United States and international copyright law.
You may share links to our content. You may not reproduce, republish, copy, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except as permitted under fair use or other applicable law.

6. User Conduct
When using Utahn, including comment sections or any interactive features, you agree not to:
Post content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, or unlawful. Impersonate any person or entity. Interfere with or disrupt the site or its servers. Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or harvest content. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site. Use the site for any commercial purpose without our written consent.
We reserve the right to remove any user-submitted content and to terminate accounts that violate these terms at our discretion and without notice.
7. Comments and User Submissions
Certain subscription tiers include the ability to comment on articles. By submitting a comment or any other content to Utahn, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with the operation of the site. You retain ownership of your submissions.
You are solely responsible for any content you submit. Do not submit content that infringes on the rights of others or that you do not have the right to share.

Utahn may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those sites. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
