The Forever Ago People

Before the pioneers. Before the territory. Before the state had a name.

The Ute were here.

They call themselves NĂșuchi-u. The People. Their homeland stretched across most of present-day Utah, western Colorado, and into parts of New Mexico and Wyoming. The Spanish called them Yutas. The forever ago people. Utah bears their name.

This is their story.
